Want to give back to elders who helped pave the way for you? There are two ways to do that at The Glen: donate and/or volunteer. Let’s take a look at both of these options and how they help your local Shreveport assisted living facility.
Way #1: Donations
Did you know that The Glen has a nonprofit organization called Connections for Life? This lets us support our residents throughout their lives with us. When people donate to us and our nonprofit, they support senior adults in the greater Shreveport community, as well as the senior residents living in our community.
When you donate to The Glen, here are a few examples of what your gift will do:
- Improve financial reserves: To weather times of economic change.
- Better environment for residents: One that exceeds basic needs and focuses on residents’ choice, dignity and purposeful living.
- Campus maintenance: Which includes improving our campus and services, as well as future programs, renovations and expansions.

Way #2: Volunteering
Another way you can support your local Shreveport assisted living facility is to volunteer your time. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, as you’re able to contribute to a warm and supportive community for residents. Our volunteers enjoy playing games with our residents, singing songs together, leading them in craft projects and more.
