Volunteers vital to mission at The Glen

The Glen is more than a warm and supportive community for  residents; it’s also a meaningful place for our volunteers.

Volunteers are a vital part of helping us meet our mission with their assistance, care, and support.

Each day, volunteers can be found all around The Glen working with us in a variety of ways.

“I go at least three times a month for  the birthday parties, the happy hour, afternoon tea, and I try to help out with Bean Bag Baseball,” said volunteer John Storey. “What I’m doing, I’m enjoying it as well.”

Volunteering opportunities also include working and assisting in The Village General Store, helping pass out food and drinks at parties, musical entertainment, reading to residents, calling numbers for Bingo, guiding arts and crafts, and much more.

“I get connected to the residents, so I look forward to it,” volunteer Larry Melancon said. “It’s very fulfilling, it’s fun, and the residents really enjoy it — they look forward to your coming.”
