VHC resident shares music with neighbors
A Village Health Care resident recently rediscovered his love of playing music, and now he shares his gift with his neighbors.
Harvey spent many years playing in a band, but when he moved to The Glen earlier this year he was no longer regularly playing guitar.
When Licensed Practical Nurse Chris Costanza, who also loves to play music, found out about their shared interest, he decided to bring one of his guitars to The Glen for Harvey to play.
“When music gets in your soul, it stays there,” Harvey said. He found this to be true when he got his hands on a guitar, and since then, he rarely wants to put it down.
One day, other Village residents were enjoying a party in their common social area when Harvey came down the hallway playing his guitar, according to Clara Wilkinson, Village Health Care Activities Director.
That inspired Clara to ask Harvey to play music at future events, including birthday parties and holiday parties. Playing guitar for his neighbors “is a reward back to me,” Harvey said. “It’s fun.”
