To Our Family Members and Community Supporters: A letter concerning COVID-19

Dear Family Members,

In light of recent news, we are informing you of The Glen’s preparation in the event of a local Coronavirus outbreak.  COVID-19 (also referred to as the Coronavirus) poses a significant threat to those who become infected.  Should the virus continue to spread within the United States, as it has in other countries, residents at The Glen will be disproportionately impacted because of age of the residents and, in some cases, close living conditions.

The Glen is working with medical officials and other partners to monitor the situation closely.  In collaboration with peer organizations and federal agencies, we ensure that the health of the residents at The Glen is top priority.

As a family member there are several measures you can take to help ensure the safety of your loved one living at The Glen.  Like so many of the easily-transmissible diseases and viruses we prepare for every day, everyone can prepare with a few simple reminders:

  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Cover your mouth when you sneeze.
  • Maintain “social distances” of a few feet near people who show symptoms.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Do not visit The Glen if you are sick. Please stay home and get medical attention.
  • Do not visit The Glen within 14 days of returning from interstate or international travel to infected areas.

You can stay updated on the latest news concerning the Coronavirus by visiting our resources page at theglen.org/resources-for-the-coronavirus.  Also, should you have any questions, please reach out to us at 318-798-3500.

Sincerely,

Debra Williams

President and CEO
